We've been in the 7th generation of consoles for nearly 4 years now and GR has given out a total of 2 F grades in that time (Jenga World Tour and The Golden Compass). I remember a time when there would be maybe one F per month. Are GR getting nicer or are games getting better?

It's only just occurred to me that we're nearly half way through the year and so far, the only new game that has really made the press so far is Resident Evil 5. All the other "big" games that have come this year have either been re-releases, pseudo-sequels, ports or movie-licenced games...

It's genuine. I've also seen a pen that says "made from recycled videotapes"

So they're all customisable characters rather than pre-set characters?

A strange thought occurred to me - most games feature men or women between 15-40 years of age as playable characters, but you can occasionally get games (usually RPGs) where you can also control little girls and boys and old men. But I cannot think of a single game where you have an old woman...

Where's the fun in that?

I used to be an FF fan, but the series has gone downhill ever since Square merged with Enix. I renounced my fanship after I defeated Vayne on FF12. I thought after FF10, Square should have learned that long games are not rewarding if the final boss is easier to kill than a suicidally...

When FF7 moved N64 to PSX, this was the nail in the coffin that stole the limelight from Nintendo and won Sony the next 2 generations Could this be the move that nearly kills Sony and moves the audience to Microsoft? I know that there have been a couple of FFs for the GBA and DS, plus FF11...

I add support to the previous suggestions of Dungeon Keeper, Legacy of Kain, Streets of Rage and Oddworld. My Suggestion: Michael Jackson's Moonwalker 2! And actually include Thriller this time!

Look at GR's reviews for the past month - the worst game only got a D+, and there have been a solid number of Bs, and even a few As. Do you reckon publishers have realised that people actually have spare time to play games in the summer and that you can't be sunbathing every day?

Super Mario 64 in 15 minutes. I know the guy was abusing a bug in the game but it's still amazing.

Call me ADD, but I'm already bored with the 7th generation. Are there any rumours (or solid facts would be nice) about the 8th generation? Xbox 720? PlayStation 4? Nintendo Puu? Mac iConsole?
