You know, it is hard for me to really nail down a good explanation of myself. Like everyone else, I suppose, I'm a mixed bag of skills and talents. I'd consider myself a jack of all trades, perhaps. I've played many sports, including soccer, baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. I quit all that to take up martial arts, starting with Judo (as my avatar suggests, my favorite throw is harai goshi!) and later adding Taekwondo, Karate, Brazilian Jiujitsu, plain old boxing and kickboxing. I've been involved with martial arts since 2006, and it remains one of my favorite things to do.

The next best thing, however, is gaming. The first game I ever played was Raptor: Call of the Shadows, if my memory serves. It was either that or Doom. Either one was in 1994. I remember my dad waking me up before the sun one morning to show me that he'd installed a sound card. Do you remember when those weren't already on your motherboard?? I was absolutely blown away to hear the actual music and sound effects from Raptor instead of the cheap MIDI stuff I was used to. Ever since then, I was hooked.

We owned a bunch of different systems. We had a Sega Game Gear (Dragon Crystal! Yes!), Gameboy Color (Spider man was my favorite game!), N64, a Dreamcast (which I still own and play today), a PS2, which I've since restarted my collection of when my brother recently gave me his old slim ps2. My oldest brother shipped off to the Air Force boot camp and spent a year in training, and bought a PS3 when he got home. When he left again, he left it with me. It wasn't until I joined the Air Force in 2008 that I got an Xbox 360, and then an Xbox One the day it released. I got the last one at the Target out in Minot, North Dakota. People were pissed. I also had my debit card information compromised, so I guess they win.

Throughout all of the different systems, I've always maintained a PC. I generally just frankensteined one together from old parts. I actually bought a new tower last year, which finally brought me into the modern age with all "new" parts. It isn't the greatest PC out there, but I can play Arma 3 on high settings with around 40 fps, which is good enough for me.

I play a bunch of different kinds of games. I love RTS games a ton. My first love affair was probably with Tanya from Red Alert. I've got every single Command and Conquer game ever released (Including sole survivor!). I love flight sims, FPS games, RPGs like Fallout or Skyrim, Sports games, fighting games, whatever. I just like to have a good time. I recently set up some old fashioned LAN games of the original Command and Conquer with my 5 year old son. He loves the games as well.

I also love to write, if you couldn't tell by how long winded this bio is. I'm sure most people will never even bother to check out this profile, unless I really start writing again. I had some fun posts on here over the years that people seemed to enjoy. Perhaps I can find the time to get back into it. Enough about me! How about you?

Cheers
