Apparently it begins with the letter 'S', but it isn't Scorpio. What is it, then?
Super Xbox One?
Xbox One Supreme?
Surely the system's sobriquet suggested by salacious salesmen will be simple and superb.
Scorpion just to mess with people
Super SeXbox has a nice ring to it.
And later they will release the Super SeXbox Slim, because it's not the size that counts
Hmmm why is the "S" logo cut in half like that I wonder?
Something stupid like "Symmetry" or "Synthesis"
I wonder if it will be "Xbox One [BLANK]" or just "Xbox [BLANK]".
"Xbox One S-crewed you all for buying an S"
Looking at it, doesn't look symmetrical at all. My guess is it's going to be "twice" the power of Xbox One. I feel it'll be called Xbox One Ultra. Definitely feeling it's not going to change the lifespan of Xbox One. Also, still predicting a $600 USD price tag
It's being called the Xbox One X.
Stupidest fucking name i've ever heard
Did these dense bastards not learn from the Wii U? Now everybody is going to think it's a small update to the existing console rather than an entirely new one, so why would they bother to upgrade?
Twits should've just left it as scorpio
I don't wanna say its the most disappointing name, I've heard but it doesn't pop as much as "Scorpio" did. I will say this, the console does have that slick look I like in most of my electronics.
It's really incredible that it's even smaller than the One S.
That said, I'm not really all that interested in the One X, personally. Just not a thing I need to spend money on right now, regardless of price. Really great E3 presentation though! So many games.
They are working hard on getting the whole palindrome thing correct, they just aren't there yet. Their next console will get it right and be called the XboxobX.
I hope they would not go like Nintendo where so many people are confused between WII and WII U
Same, important not to do that.
It is a bit of a different situation tho... yes Xbox One X is a big deal and they want to be sure to assert that it's not some small update.
Wii U was an actual new console gen from Wii, whereas One X is not. It's still an Xbox One.
It's really not. This is like going from a $600 gaming laptop to a $1000 gaming desktop and calling it a small upgrade because they both run windows 10, it's an entirely different thing that is backwards compatible with your current games, and it should absolutely have been called something different.
People are now going to look at the consoles and go 'well this one is $100 more than the PS4 Pro and they're both only updates to do 4K, why would i get the xbox?'. Ordinary consumers aren't going to find out just how much more powerful it is by looking at the TFLOPS it has, and the insane amount of extra power it has over a normal xbone is going to piss developers off when they have to suddenly support 2 entirely different consoles while pretending they're the same.
MS marketing team dropped the ball, big fucking time, and it's completely inexcusable when they had the example of what happened to nintendo when they pretended their next big console was just a follow on to the previous.
If i were sony right now, i would be sending flowers to every MS employee, because they just gave sony the ability to launch a PS5 next year and fill their adverting with talk about it being the next generation of consoles.
I wonder if there will be some todgers out there that call it the "Xbox One Ten"
Yeah, but some people might still get confused between One, S, and X.
