I'm a big fan of the "classic" games that others have spawned off, so to speak. I also love games that are challenging, but also engage me in a storyline, so to be honest I'm a bit on the fence. Although I would say that nowadays there's too much emphasis put on graphics.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant is probably the best Japanese RPG on the PS2. Another game that I loved was a game called Dragonriders for the PC. Was probably one of the worst games ever made, but it was so damned addictive! I fell in love with it...

MYST! Had me hooked like a giant squid. One of the most frustratingly difficult games ever and paved the way for the great graphical games we see today. Legend.
